  • About

Since 2004, Spokane HOPE has remained the only listening and spoken language program in this region providing specialized early intervention for children with hearing loss using modern hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants, Baha devices). Hearing technology MUST be accompanied by specialized teaching and training so children may learn to interpret and use the sounds they hear, and this teaching must be reinforced by parents at home.

HOPE provides in-home services for infants, birth–3. Onsite programs include small-group, language-enriched weekly toddler group and four days/week AM and PM preschool focused on maximizing listening, learning, and speaking skills. All programs are facilitated by certified Teachers of the Deaf with specialized training in teaching oral and auditory development through academic, social and emotional curriculum activities with the goal to prepare these at-risk children to enter kindergarten with little-to-no special support needed. Come for a tour.

As a 501(c)(3), HOPE must raise 66% of its budget through grants, fundraising and individuals. We host an annual Hoedown for HOPE event in the fall (spokanehope.org/hoedown) netting $110,000 in 2016 - 1/4 of our budget. Come join the fun!
